ABOUT US
We are a community of missionaries from all across the globe, united by God's call on our lives and our obedience to His guidance. Our vision reflects the simple yet grand design of the Father’s heart: to see nations reconciled to Jesus, to foster and be part of the great and final revival (Joel 2:28-29) and to be a voice for the voiceless.
our story
starts here
We are called to be the waves of revival that restore the nations and reconcile them to Christ. Be part of it!
The birth of our Base happened in a completely unique and unexpected way, even outside the usual YWAM pattern of pioneering Bases.
Everything started with three young YWAMers, Andrey and Rebeca Kazlouski (a married couple), and Tim Engelmann, in a small green tent on the border between Poland and Ukraine, helping people who were fleeing the war.
It was March 2022, just 10 days after the start of the war, when Andrey, Rebeca and Tim heard the voice of God telling them they were not only meant to do humanitarian work but to PIONEER A YWAM BASE!
Our vision reflects the simple yet grand design of the Father’s heart: to see nations reconciled to Jesus and to one another; to foster and be part of the great and final revival (Joel 2:28–29), especially in Eastern Europe and among unreached people groups; to champion young leaders; to defend the rights of those in vulnerable and high-risk situations; and to be a voice for the voiceless while also empowering them to speak.
The name was inspired by a vision Rebeca received from the Lord in 2018, during her first mission trip to Ukraine. In the vision, she saw a great wave of revival and reconciliation among young people, rising from the former Soviet Union (USSR) and spreading across Europe and beyond.
The house, which on the first day had only 250 mattresses, has since taken shape. It now has the capacity to accommodate more than 30 people and has welcomed over 650 volunteers in its first year..
Currently, our base continues to meet immediate needs and carry out ministries at multiple locations, including running DTSs and other schools, seminars, evangelism, sports, media, and kids’ ministry—partnering with local churches, NGOs, and more.
WHAT'S YWAM
Youth With a Mission (typically shortened to YWAM, pronounced /ˈwaɪwæm/) is a global, interdenominational Christian non-profit organization. Founded by Loren and Darlene Cunningham in 1960, YWAM currently operates in over 180 countries through three main areas: Evangelism, Training, and Mercy Ministry. YWAM has over 20,000 workers and trains up to 25,000 short-term mission volunteers' annually.
In Poland YWAM has been active since the mid-1970s through individuals and teams that partnered with local churches and various movements and NGOs.
In March 2022, we established our Base in response to the war in Ukraine. Named YWAM Wave of Revival (YWR) the base is currently located in Rzeszow, a city in the South-East of Poland near the Ukrainian border. We are a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and traditions, united by a shared commitment to the same beliefs, values and purpose: To know God and make Him known.
About Rzeszów
The base is located in the south-east of Poland, in the city of Rzeszów, about an hour from the Ukrainian border. Rzeszów is the largest city in southeastern Poland. The last official population count was 203,459, but reports indicate it increased by around 100,000 due to the Ukrainian refugee crisis in 2022. Rzeszów is a cozy city that looks beautiful in every season. It offers a wide range of tourism, entertainment, and leisure options—nice coffee shops, cinemas, theaters, various shopping malls… and this is just the beginning of the amusements.
